Answer:

r ≈ 26%

W_{t}  = 85\times 2^{\frac{t}{3} }

Step-by-step explanation:

Total power generated by wind worldwide doubles every 3 years.

In a particular year, the world wind generating capacity was 85 thousand megawatts.

So, the formula for wind generating capacity W (in thousand megawatts) as a function of t. the number of years in the future will be given by

W_{t}  = 85\times 2^{\frac{t}{3} } ........ (1)

Therefore, for t = 1 year,

W_{1}  = 85 \times 2^{\frac{1}{3} } = 107.09 thousand megawatts.

Again, for t = 2 years,

W_{2} = 85 \times 2^{\frac{2}{3} } = 134.93 thousand megawatts.

As the continuous growth rate is exponential, so, we can write

W_{2} = W_{1}(1 + \frac{r}{100}) ^{1}

⇒ 134.93 = 107.09(1 + \frac{r}{100}) ^{1}

⇒ r = 25.99% ≈ 26% (Answer)

anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

$20

Step-by-step explanation:

Company A:

Buy 300 shares at $1.45 per share.

Sell 300 shares at $1.65 per share.

Profit: ($1.65 - $1.45) * 300 = $60

Company B:

Buy 200 shares at $1.20 per share.

Sell 200 shares at $1.10 per share.

Loss: ($1.20 - $1.10) * 200 = $20

Net profit:

$40 - $20 = $20

James has $5.00 more than three times what Catherine has. Together they have $41.00. How much does each student have?
Tpy6a [65]
Hey.

acc'g to the conditions :

Let Catherine has x
and James has 5 + 3x

Then,

5 + 4x = 41 \\ \\ \implies 4x +5 -5 = 41-5 \\ \\ \implies 4x = 36 \\ \\ \implies x= \dfrac{36}{4} \\ \\ \implies x = 9

Hence

• Catherine has = x = $9,
• and James has = 5 +3x = 5 + 3(9) = $32

Thanks.
