You posted a lot of questions. I'll do the first four problems to get you started.

============================

Problem 1

This sequence is arithmetic because we add the same amount (4) each time to get the next term. The first term is -2. The first five terms are: -2, 2, 6, 10, 14

============================

Problem 2

This sequence is geometric. We multiply each term by 1/4 to get the next term. We start with 8 as the first term. The first five terms are 8, 2, 1/2, 1/8, 1/32.

============================

Problem 3

Similar to problem 1. This time we're adding -19 to each term to get the next one. The starting term is -6. This sequence is arithmetic and the first five terms are -6, -25, -44, -63, -82

============================

Problem 4

Similar to problem 2. This sequence is geometric with common ratio 2/3. First term is 6. The first five terms are 6, 4, 8/3, 16/9, 32/27

For any nonnegative real number.
frutty [35]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that \sqrt{b}=b^{1/2}.

We also know that (a^b)^c=a^{bc}.

We can combine these facts to get (\sqrt{b})^2=(b^{1/2})^2=b^{1/2*2}=b^{1}=b.

So, the answer is \boxed{A} and we're done!

<em>Note: the non-negative part or the equation comes from the fact that you assume the square root of a negative number doesn't exist. You will change this assumption later in the year, or in further years.</em>

How many solutions does the following system of equations have?<br> {4x + 6y = 24<br> 2x + 3y = 12
Mila [183]

Answer:

Infinitely many solutions

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that 2(2x+3y=12) is 4x+6y=24, which is the first equation. Therefore, by canceling the equations out, you have 0=0, which means whatever one side equals, the other side ALWAYS equals that.

Dana's phone has zero battery. After charging her phone for 1 minute, it has
zzz [600]

From the first two inference, it takes her phone 1 minute to charge 2% i.e 1 minute of charge = 2% of battery.

Therefore; charging from scratch,

1 min = 2%

x mins = 50%.

using cross multiplication,

x mins = (50% × 1 min) ÷ 2%.

x = 25 mins.

For 90%, applying the same formula,

y min = (90% × 1 min) ÷ 2%

y = 45 mins.

So from zero percent, it will take Dana's phone 25 minutes to charge to 50% and 45 minutes to charge to 90%.
