<em>We </em><em>can </em><em>find </em><em>the </em><em>median </em><em>by </em><em>using </em><em>the </em><em>formula:</em>

<em>(</em><em>N+</em><em>1</em><em>/</em><em>2</em><em>)</em><em> </em><em>th </em><em>item</em>

<em>For </em><em>example:</em>

<em>Given </em><em>data:</em><em> </em><em>4</em><em>,</em><em>6</em><em>,</em><em>3</em><em>,</em><em>5</em><em>,</em><em>7</em>

<em>We </em><em>have </em><em>to </em><em>arrange </em><em>the </em><em>data </em><em>into </em><em>ascending</em><em> </em><em>order</em><em>:</em>

<em>=</em><em>3</em><em>,</em><em>4</em><em>,</em><em>5</em><em>,</em><em>6</em><em>,</em><em>7</em>

<em>N(</em><em>total </em><em>no </em><em>of </em><em>items)</em><em>=</em><em>5</em>

<em>Now,</em>

<em>Median=</em><em>(</em><em>N+</em><em>1</em><em>/</em><em>2</em><em>)</em><em>th </em><em>item</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em>(</em><em>5</em><em>+</em><em>1</em><em>/</em><em>2</em><em>)</em><em> </em><em>th </em><em>item</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em>(</em><em>6</em><em>/</em><em>2</em><em>)</em><em> </em><em>th </em><em>item</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em> </em><em>3</em><em>r</em><em>d</em><em> </em><em>item</em>

<em>Median=</em><em>5</em>

<em>Hope </em><em>it</em><em> </em><em>helps</em>

<em>Good </em><em>luck</em><em> on</em><em> your</em><em> assignment</em>

To find the median, put all numbers into ascending order and work into the middle by crossing off numbers at each end. If there are a lot of items of data, add 1 to the number of items of data and then divide by 2 to find which item of data will be the median

Which of the equations below represents a line perpendicular to the x-axis?
Allushta [10]

Answer:

Option B

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A line perpendicular to the x-axis is a line parallel to the y-axis

so

the equation of the line is of the form x=(+/-)a

The slope of the line is undefined

where

a is a real number

therefore

x=6 is a line perpendicular to the x-axis

Can someone please explain me this
Vlad [161]

1st way

To solve this we need to know ratio.

-  \frac{1}{5}  \div  \frac{1}{5}  =  - 1 \\

Now we can see that odd numbers of geometric sequence are positive and even numbers are negative. 91 - odd number, so it will be positive. If ratio is equal to -1, than 91st number is

\frac{1}{5}  \\

2nd way

Firstly, we need to find ratio.

-  \frac{1}{5}  \div  \frac{1}{5}  =  - 1 \\

Secondly, we need to use this formula

b_n=b_1 \times q^{n-1} \\

b_{91}= \frac{1}{5}  \times ( - 1)^{91-1} =  \frac{1}{5}  \\
