Consider a two-link network where Host A is connected to the router by a 1 Mbps link with 10 ms propagation delay and the router

is connected to Host B by a 15 Mbps link with a 25 ms propagation delay. Host A sends a 1500-byte packet to Host B. What is the transmission delay (in ms) of the packet from Host A to the router?

Answer:

15ms

Explanation:

The propagation delay of sending data across the link between Host A and the router is 10ms at 1Mbps.

A 1500 byte package is equivalent to 1.5Mb, so the transmitting of this data would take;

        1.5Mb of the data transmits at = 1 1/2 seconds

with a delay of => 10ms + (10ms/2)

= 10 + 5 = 15ms.

Examine the efficiency the various recovery algorithms used in deadlock handling
sineoko [7]

Solution:

The process of transaction can guarantee the reliability of business applications. Locking resources is widely used in distributed transaction management (e.g; two phase commit, 2PC) to keep the system consistent. The locking mechanism, however, potentially results in various deadlocks. In service oriented architecture, the deadlock problem becomes even worse because multiple transactions try to lock shared resources in the unexpectable way due to the more randomicity of transaction requests, which has not been solved by existing research results. In this paper, we investigate how to prevent local deadlocks, caused by the resource competition among multiple sub-transactions of a gl obal transaction, and global deadlocks from the competition among different global transactions. We propose a replication based approach to avoid the local deadlocks, and a timestamp based approach to significantly mitigate the global deadlocks. A general algorithm is designed for both local and global deadlock prevention. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our deadlock prevention approach. Further, it is also proved that our approach provides higher system performance than traditional resource allocation schemes.

Write a statement to declare and initialize an array of int named denominations that contains exactly six elements. Your declara
lawyer [7]

Answer:

// here is statement in C++ to declare and initialize an array.

int denominations[]={1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100};

Explanation:

In C++, an array can be declare and initialize in a single statement.Syntax to declare and initialize an array in C++ is type <type>
[]={val1,vale2...valn}. Here first literal is type of array and second is name of the array.And in the {} braces value of the array.In the above statement type is integer and name of the array is "denominations" and the values are 1,5,10,25,50,100.

//here is implementation in C++.

// include headers

#include <bits/stdc++.h>

using namespace std;

// main function

int main()

{

// declare and initialize array

int denominations[]={1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100};

return 0;

An extent is a named portion of secondary memory allocated for the purpose of storing physical records.
Dafna11 [192]

An extent is a named portion of secondary memory that is allocated for the purpose of storing physical records: a. true.

What is a hard-disk drive?

A hard-disk drive can be defined as an electro-mechanical, non-volatile data storage device that is made up of magnetic disks (platters) that rotates at high speed.

In Computer technology, all hard-disk drives are commonly installed on computers and other digital service for the storage of files and to enable the booting of a computer through its operating system (OS).

What is a memory?

A memory can be defined as a terminology that is used to describe the available space on an electronic device that is typically used for the storage of data or any computer related information such as:

  • Images
  • Videos
  • Texts
  • Music
  • Codes
  • Folders

In this context, we can reasonably infer that it is true that an extent refers to a named portion of secondary memory that is typically allocated for the purpose of storing physical records.
