The study of history held a particular fascination for arab muslims  imbued with a sense of mission. as a result muslims recorded their own history and that of others. great centres of religious learning were also centers  of knowledge and scientific development. islam originated and has developed in an arab culture.

There were a lot of homeless people sleeping in the cities. Some people built and lived in shanty towns.
