What happened to President Clinton and his wife, Hillary, in the Whitewater case?

History

Answer:

C. They were cleared of any wrongdoing.

Explanation:

The Whitewater controversy was a political scandal that involved Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as their associates Jim McDougal and Susan McDougal in the Whitewater Development Corporation. It involved a financial investment that the Clintons had made into the corporation. Eventually, the case resulted in convictions against the McDougals, as well as Jim Guy Tucker, Bill Clinton's successor as governor. However, neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton were prosecuted, as there was insufficient evidence to link them with the criminal conduct of others.

How did appeasement start and what was the impact ?
kati45 [8]

Answer:

This answer relates to the 1930's.

Explanation:

Appeasement was a policy pursued by European powers, in their dealings with Nazi Germany in order to avoid a repetition of WW1, namely another conflict engulfing Europe.

Many in the West supported Hitler as someone who was bringing stability to Germany and was an effective bastion against the Soviet Union and communism.

There was also the feeling that the Treaty of Versailles had been too harsh on Germany and Hitler had justification for his territorial requests.

In 1935 the Saar once more became part of Germany after over 90% voted in favour in a plebiscite.

In 1936, Germany entered and remilitarised the Rhineland, in direct contravention of the Treaty of Versailles. Had this been stopped it may have led to a different path being taken by Hitler. however the West did nothing.

This encouraged Hitler to make further claims including the Anschluss with Austria in 1938.

Also in 1938, the Munich Agreement signed away the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia. The rest of Czechoslovakia was taken over in 1939.

Only when Germany attacked Poland did the West act with Britain and France declaring war.

For what purpose do archaeologists think mound A was built? Why do they think that?
alexira [117]

Answer:

Archaeologists identify Poverty Point culture by its characteristic artifacts and the nonlocal rocks used to make them. Imported rocks and minerals include various cherts and flints, soapstone, hematite, magnetite, slate, galena, copper, and many others. Radiocarbon dates indicate that some raw materials were being traded to the Poverty Point site and other sections of the Poverty Point culture area by 1730 B.C. The arrival of substantial amounts of these trade materials is a convenient point to define the onset of Poverty Point culture, and their disappearance, a good point to mark its end.
