The legislation on Missouri Compromise was used separate the slave and free state. It was only a reprieve because if the Congress would decide for an abolition of slavery it should have been done already. The 1820s was the rise of heated debates and struggle of slavery. The Missouri Compromised helped made the delay on intensified problems that may arise by those who wanted the abolition of slavery and those who want to maintain slavery.
