What type of evidence would you look for in a natural setting to indicate that there is competition taking placle among the plan
alexdok [17]

In a study, competition among plants are normal. Hence, all plants required a few basic elements like the light, water, nitrogen, or phosphorus, depending upon the species and the location. Evidence that can conclude that competition do really happen in plants is that some plants release toxins into the soil, in their dropped leaves which wipe out the competition for soil nutrients (such as weeds). And when it come an area with many trees in close proximity such as a forest, height is also indicative of competition for light.

Where do the calories in your food come from?
GrogVix [38]

Answer: Calories are the amount of energy released when your body breaks down (digests and absorbs) food.

Explanation:

The more calories a food has, the more energy it can provide to your body. When you eat more calories than you need, your body stores the extra calories as body fat. Even a fat-free food can have a lot of calories

Can someone explain to me what chromosomes are, and also explain briefly and understandably grade 10/ 10th grade biology term 1
Vanyuwa [196]
Chromosomes are what the mother and father donate to the fetus in order to compose your basic genetics

The father gives half which is 25 and the mother gives 23

The reason for this is when a baby is being created it is given a gender. That gender is either boy or girl the boy has an added chromosome at the near middle of gestation and the girl lacks that last chromosome so thats why the father gives more chromosomes than the mother

Red-green color blindness is an X-linked recessive disorder that is passed through generations and can be traced by using a pedi
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

Lisa and Monica

Explanation:

The correct answer would be Lisa and Monica.

For X-linked recessive disorders, a female can be unaffected, a carrier, or affected. However, a male can either be affected or unaffected and never a carrier. This is because females have two X chromosomes while males have only one.

In addition, completely filled-in shapes in a pedigree mean that such individuals are affected for the trait in question while half-filled shapes mean the individuals are carriers for the trait.

Hence, individuals in the pedigree that are labeled carriers for red-green color blindness are Lisa and Monica (they both have half-filled shapes).
