Answer:

See Explanation Below

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Total Sweets = 10

Red = 4

Green = 2

Yellow = 3

Purple = 1

Required

a & b

The question is not properly presented; however the solution is as follows;

A.

Let P(Yellow) represent the probability of selecting a yellow sweet and n(Yellow) represent the number of Yellow sweets;

P(Yellow) = \frac{n(Yellow)}{Total}

P(Yellow) = \frac{4}{10}

P(Yellow) = 0.4

So, whichever letter that shows 0.4 or \frac{4}{10} is the probability of choosing a yellow sweet

B.

Let P(Orange) represent the probability of selecting an orange sweet and n(Orange) represent the number of orange sweets;

Since, there's no orange sweet in the bag;

n(Orange) = 0

P(Orange) = \frac{n(Orange)}{Total}

P(Orange) = \frac{0}{10}

P(Orange) = 0

In probability; opposite probabilities add up to 1;

Let P(Not\ Orange) represent the probability of choosing a sweet that is not orange

P(Not\ Orange)  + P(Orange) = 1

Substitute P(Orange) = 0

P(Not\ Orange)  + 0 = 1

P(Not\ Orange) = 1

So, whichever letter that shows 0 is the probability of choosing a sweet that is not orange

≅Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

If we rotate the shape on the right 90 degrees counterclockwise we see they fit together, because they are congruent. They are exactly equal in size and shape - that's what congruent means.

So the following angles are equal in measure:

m < A = m < R

m < B = m < S

m < C = m < P

m < D = m < Q.

Corresponding sides are also equal in length:

Sides AB = RS

BC = SP

CD = PQ

AD = RQ.

Note:  in the US the symbol ≅ is used for equality of sides. I think it means 'is congruent to'. (I'm from the UK).

How many Match sticks will be In Image 6?
zavuch27 [327]
19

In the first image, we are given 4 match sticks.

In the second image, we are given 7 match sticks. The difference between the match sticks is 3.

In the third image, we are given 10 match sticks. The difference between the match sticks again is 3.

If in the third image we are given 10 match sticks, and for every new image, there is another 3 match stick added, then in the sixth image, there must be 19 match sticks. Image 4: 10 + 3 = 13. Image 5: 13 + 3 = 16. Image 6: 16 + 3 = 19.

Answer = 19. Hope this helps. :)
