M∠BPD = 130° and mBC + mAD = 100°.

An angle formed by two chords has a measure that is 1/2 the sum of the chords.

Here, we know that arc CA = 170° and arc BD = 70°.  That means that the sum of CB and DA is 100°.  This also tells us that ∠DPA = 1/2(100) = 50°.  Therefore m∠BPD = 180-50 = 130°, since it forms a straight angle with ∠DPA.

Answer:

1. m\angle BPD=120^{o}

2. m BC+m AD=120^{o}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given a circle O, where measure of arc BD is 70 degrees and measure of arc CA is 170 degrees.

To find the measure of angle BPD we will use intersecting chords theorem. This theorem states that the measure of an angle formed by two  chords that intersect within a circle is 1/2 the sum of the measures of the arcs  intercepted by the angle and its vertical angle.

We can see from our diagram that arc BD intercepts angle BPD and arc CA intercepts angle CPA.

m\angle BPD=\frac{1}{2}(m CA+m BD)

m\angle BPD=\frac{1}{2}(170+70)

m\angle BPD=\frac{1}{2}(240)

m\angle BPD=120

Therefore, measure of angle BPD is 120 degrees.

Since we know that the arc measure can also be find by measure of a central angle of circle. Since 2πR is the circumference of the whole circle, so it is same as the ratio of the arc angle to a full angle (360).

Let us find measure of arc BC and AD by subtracting the measures of arc BD and CA from full angle of a circle.

m BC+m AD=360-(m BD+m CA)

m BC+m AD=360-(70+170)

m BC+m AD=360-(240)

m BC+m AD=120

Therefore, the measure of arc AD and arc BC is 120 degrees.

For this question What is 4f-9-f+15
Alex_Xolod [135]

Answer:

3f+6

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we combine like terms which are in this case 4f and f.  4f-9-f+15 is (4f-f)+(-9+15), which we simplify to 3f+6.

The equation tan(55 degree) equals StartFraction 15 Over b EndFraction can be used to find the length of Line segment A C.
butalik [34]

Answer:

AC is b

tan55 =  \frac{15}{b}

15/tan55 = b

tan 55 = 1.428

15/1.428 = 10.5 cm = AC

What is algebra 1 and 2
telo118 [61]
Algebra 1 is a basic algebra course usually taken in freshman year (9th grade). Common Core guidelines dominate the curriculum. It is faster paced than middle school math courses. Algebra 2 is a more advanced algebra course usually taken in junior year (11th grade). Algebra 2 is paced even faster and builds on what you learn in A1 and geometry. Both deal with variables and the manipulation of numbers.
