Human culture affects nature dramatically. The way humans run an environment controls how nature or other ecosystems adapt to that environment. Such as if humans put a factory and pollute the air, chances are nature will die or will find a way to migrate to a place with better air quality.

That seems to have been the effect of the Pinatubo eruption where about a 1/2 degree of cooling was noticed around the world. Dr. Dan Walker here at the University of Hawai’i has noticed a strong correlation between seismic activity on the East Pacific Rise (which he presumes indicates an eruption) and El Nino cycles over the past ~25 years. </span>
