Question: In Anthony’s speech “On Women's Right to Vote,” what evidence does she use to support her argument that state laws preventing women from voting are illegal?

Options:

A- the constitution that “secure[s] the blessings of liberty”

B- a state law that is “null and void,” or not valid

C- the question “Are women persons?”

D- a description of her voting as an “alleged crime”

Answer: The correct answer is option: A) The constitution that “secure[s] the blessings of liberty”

Explanation: Susan B. Anthony was arrested for casting an illegal vote in the presidential election of 1872. During this time, women did not have the right to vote. She was fined at $100 dollars but refused to pay and gave a very important speech about women's right to vote. She assured the public that she had not committed a crime, but she had simply exercised her citizen's rights. She also mentioned that the National Constitution had given these rights to all U.S citizens. She even quoted the preamble of the Federal Constitution, mentioning the following: "We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. -- It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union. KiRa [710]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You forgot to include the two articles, or further links, or references. Without those articles, we do not know what you are talking about.

However, trying to help you, what we can do is to answer in the following general terms about the Maya society.

A common central idea of the articles that have been written about the Maya civilization is that they were great astronomers who liked to observe the stars and possessed a total understanding of the concept of time.

That is why the Mayas built observatories like the one in Chichen Itza, Yucatán, México. This precious building is in good condition and can be visited by tourists.

That is why the Maya society understood the use of time with three important calendars they developed.

The Tzolkin was the divine calendar and consisted of 26 days with 20 months of 13 days.

The Haab was a solar calendar that included 365 days. These days were divided into 18 months of 20 days, and the Uayebm the month with just five days.

The Long Count Calendar was the universal cycle for the Maya civilization and was used to track longer periods.
