Although A. is considered acceptable in informal English, it is widely considered incorrect, since it says "better ... than me" when it should say "better than I"
B. is incorrect. "who" refers to the subject of the sentence, while "whom" refers to the object of the verb. To test which one to use, trying putting him/her or he/she in the sentence. if he/she works, then "who" should be used. If him/hers works, then "whom" is correct. In B, him/her would work:
(i turned the question into a statement for this 'test' to work)
"You sold the old car to him/her."
To sum all of this up, the question should be "To whom did you sell your old car?"
C. is correct; woop woop! "us" is used correctly in the sentence (as the object of the preposition).
Unlike C, sentence D. uses "us" incorrectly. It is used to refer to the subject (students) instead of being used as an object of the verb. To make this sentence correct, you would just replace "us" with "we"

The full...thing that Odysseus says is<em> </em><em>"</em><em>Dear friends, more than one man, or two, should know this things Circe foresaw for us and shared with me, so let me tell her forecast: then we die with our eyes open, if we are going to die or know what death we baffle if we can</em><em>"</em>
What this means is Circe helps Odeyssues by telling him about the sirens on how they can lurk the men with their voices and drown them... so when he finds or hears this news he tell his shipmates that Crice foresaw their death...its just that, its quite simple actually...anyway because Circe told Odeyssues about what she forsaw... Odeyssues and his shipmates didn't die on their voyage to the Island Of Sirens.
Hope this was helpfull..... Pls tell me your answer, you know whether it was helpfull or not...
Archimedes, who does not seem to be interested in what is going on, on the other side, wants to be playful. The idea of leaving/disowning was being explained Marcus in this stage of the plot.
Explanation:
Siege of Syracuse led to loss of independence of Greek cities in Italy and Sicily. Archimedes was on of the defenders of Syracuse, who tried to help with certain calculations and quotations that were needed for war against Romans.
In this siege, Archimedes worked along with the King who requested him to calculate few specific aspects that can lead to a strategy of attack against Romans. After a while, when Romans continuously proved victorious in every move they faced, Syracuse's King had to surrender.
Meanwhile, Marcus(one of the defenders) instructs every one to disembark. He explains the reason clearly that their loss is evident now. Archimedes who is still involved playing mathematical games and calculations, Marcus explains to him that disembarking is the only way left for them to survive.
Ignoring this, Archimedes continues his playful games. The disembarking, later proves to be true as Archimedes dies in the war.
