The science of touch in nonverbal communication is referred to as haptics.
The term comes from Greek, where <em>haptikos </em>means <em>touch. </em>It is a form of nonverbal communication (without the use of words) using only touch to communicate. This is especially important in interpersonal human relationships, where touch can mean different things based on the level of relationship.
The increasing power of political parties affected the candidates in the presidential election of 1800 when the most important and surprising change in the election happened which is the shift of power from the Federalists to the Democratic-Republicans which is done in a peaceful way. It was pointed out <span>as a break from European precedent wherein the transfer of power was violent. This made the competition between Jefferson and Adams in 1800 really tense.</span>

Terrorism constitutes a real threat to democracy, the rule of law and the enjoyment of human rights. As such it must be countered through prevention and suppression by the member States of the Council of Europe. However, poorly implemented or overly Draconian counter-terrorism measures can be counterproductive. While law enforcement operations aimed at terrorists are necessary and justified, counter-terrorism measures should not go beyond what is necessary to maintain peace and security, nor should they subvert the rule of law and democracy in the cause of trying to save it.
