Solomon Asch set up an experimental situation in which participants were asked to identify which of three comparison lines were

identical to a standard line. His research was designed to answer a straightforward question, namely: (A) would people obey an authority figure even if it meant hurting others? (B) would people intervene and help a person in trouble in presence of others?(C) would people still conform to the group if the group opinion was clearly wrong?(D) would prejudice be reduced if members of different group were brought into contact with each other?

Answer:

C) would people still conform to the group if the group opinion was clearly wrong?

Explanation:

Solomon Asch research was designed to answer a straightforward question, namely: would people still conform to the group if the group opinion was clearly wrong? This research was made by Asch to test conformity in ambiguous situations. Two important conclusions of the research are that people tend to conform to the majority of the group of opinion even if they know their answer is wrong, and that the size of the group is important when deciding.

DedPeter [7]

Answer:

Authoritative

Explanation:

There are 4 different styles of parenting:

 • Authoritarian
 • Authoritative
 • Permissive/indulgent
 • Uninvolved/neglectful

Both Authoritative and authoritarian styles of parenting focus on authority, this means that they set rules and expect their children to follow the rules.

However, the authoritarian parenting is a cold style of parenting which doesn't allow for questions from the kids ("because I say so") so there is a one directional style of communication. These parents focus on punishing the wrong behavior and they believe in total control and lack of independence from their children. Therefore, this children tend to be shy, dependant and they do not get along with others, they usually tend to be asocial.

Authoritative parents are nurturing so they are warmer than the Authoritarian parents, they allow children to ask why so they explain limits by reasoning with their kids, they also focus on teaching the right behaviors rather than punishing the wrong ones and when there are wrong behaviors they focus on consequences rather than on punishments. This children tend to be happy and independent, they also have healthy interactions and relationships with the people around them.

Permissive/Indulgent parents think "kids will be kids" so they tend to be very forgiving when it comes to rules and they don't usually set consequences, but, when they do, they don't really stick to them. These children grow to be irresponsible and they do not stick to rules.

Uninvolved/neglectful parents are cold and distant but also they don't expect much from their children so, basically, their children lack attention, and we can say they are neglected. These children are more likely to have delinquent behavior when they grow and they have difficulties establishing social relationships.

Therefore, we can see that Children who have high academic achievement, get along well with others, and are happy tend to come from households with an authoritative parenting style
