<span>In his writing "The men we carry in our minds", Sanders explains that he always had a picture in his mind that men had to work very hard everyday, while women just stayed home. Thoreau borrowed an axe and spent some days gathering things needed in framing his house. He cut and hew timber, studs, and rafters without thinking about many things but the essence of nature. He made more familiarity of the trees and enjoyed the company of nature while preparing the woods needed to build his house.
