In the case of water, hydrogen bonds form between neighboring hydrogen and oxygen atoms of adjacent water molecules. ... However, because hydrogen bonds are weaker than covalent bonds, in liquid water they form, break, and reform easily. Thus, the exact number of hydrogen bonds formed per molecule varies.

I give you the word equation first and then the chemical equation.

Water + electricity = Hydrogen + Oxygen

What that means is that if you have same sort of mineral that won't separate with the electricity put in the water, then you get the water "breaking down" into oxygen and hydrogen.

2H2O ===> 2H2 + O2

At this stage you don't have to worry about what the 2 in front of the hydrogen and the 2 in front of the water means. One of the properties of water is that it is hard to get the water molecule to break down.  Not impossible. Just hard.

Membranes prevent movement of most substances between the cell and the environment, but most required substances can be moved Ch
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

A. through proteins embedded in the membrane that "recognize" specific substrates and allow their passage.

Explanation:

Some of the membrane proteins serve as transport proteins. These transport proteins can serve as channels, carriers or pumps and allow facilitated diffusion or active transport of the substances across the membrane. ion channels are transport proteins that allow specific ions to move across the membrane since the charged ions cannot cross the non-polar core of the membranes. Most of the ions channels are specific and allow only particular ions to move through them. For example, Na+ ion channels will allow only Na+ ions to move across it while the chloride ions would not able to move through it.

coldgirl [10]
Depositional processes along coastlines, such as sediment transport, form sandy beaches and create highly complex landforms that experience constant change and movement. Features such as spits, barrier islands, tombolos, and dunes are classic forms in sandy beach environments.
