Well, we know that the number of tennis ball are 9 which are to be put in 3 cans

So the  the rate of number of tennis balls to number of cans will be= number of balls/number of cans= 9/3


In order to find out the number of balls per can just simplify them= number of balls/number of cans =9/3 = 3 balls per can

So there will also be 3 tennis balls in one can
