Slope = m
-If 2 points are given, then y2-y1/x2-x1 (you can choose any point as 1 or 2)
-If you have the equation of the line in the form y = mx + b, the 'm' is the slope.
-If the standard formula is give as Ax + By = C, arange it as the slope-intercept form (y = mx +b), where Ax is mx, By is y, and C is b, (remember that the signs change as you switch sides) and you'll get the slope using the method above.

Hope that helped ! :)

How many real solutions does the equation 8x^2 − 10x + 15 = 0 have?
Leto [7]

Answer:

It has no real solutions.

Step-by-step explanation

Once you calculate the discriminant,  D= (-10)^2 -4 (8)(15), you simplify the expression to get D= -380, which has no real solutions.

  • Slope Formula: \displaystyle m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

Point (-2, -1)

Point (-8, 11)

<u>Step 2: Find slope </u><em><u>m</u></em>

Simply plug in the 2 coordinates into the slope formula to find slope <em>m</em>

  1. Substitute in points [Slope Formula]:                                                             \displaystyle m=\frac{11+1}{-8+2}
  2. [Fraction] Add:                                                                                                \displaystyle m=\frac{12}{-6}
  3. [Fraction] Divide:                                                                                             \displaystyle m=-2
