Answer: y = (-3x/2) + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

From the standard equation y = mx + c, the slope of the equation is 2/3. Therefor slope of a line perpendicular to it will be -3/2.

Hence the equation will be

y = (-3x/2) + c

As this line passes through (-2,4), putting these values in this equation gives  c = 1.

Hence the answer is y = (-3x/2) + 1

Find the slope of the line that connects the points (6, -2) and ( 10, 4)
Ivanshal [37]

Slope: 1.5

Work: I used the slope formula method which is y2 - y1/ x2 - x1. After plugging it in, the new equation is 4 - (-2) / 10 - 6. After subtraction, I had gotten 6/4. And when you divide 6/4, you get 1.5

I hope this helps. :)

Will give brainliest!!! YOU MUST EXPLAIN HOW TO SOLVE!!! Can someone tell me how to solve this equation for a hyperbola?
KengaRu [80]
2y² - 3x² = 6

To put the hyperbola in standard form, divide everything by 6

(2/6)y² - (3/6)x² = 6/6
Standard form:
(1/3)y² - (1/2)x² = 1

hyperbola opens up/down NOT sideways (because its y² -x²).
then the a=√3 and b=√2
(h,k) = (0,0)

Not sure what needs to be done with xy=12
