The 1828 Tariff of Abominations was opposed by the Southern states that contended that the tariff was unconstitutional. The Southern states whose livelihoods were being harmed firstly by having to pay higher prices on goods the South did not produce, and secondly increasing taxes on British imports made it difficult for Britain to pay for the cotton they imported from the South. Tems11 [23]

Answer: The two trucks will be 339.5 miles apart after 3.5 hours.

Explanation:

Let x =Time taken(in hours) by both trucks when they 339.5 miles apart.

Distance = Speed x Time

Distance traveled to North = 48x miles

Distance traveled to South = 49x miles

Total distance = 48x+49x = 97x miles = 339.5 miles  [given]

\Rightarrow\ x=\dfrac{339.5}{97}\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=3.5
