"Internet is an invention that would disrupt the current establishment of the media industry".

Prior to the introduction of the Internet in the '90s. Media Industry relied on the printed press as one of their major sources of income, as there was an established habit among consumers to buy daily newspapers as well as periodic magazines. However, this media category was severely affected by the Internet, as it made it possible for News outlets to publish information on a "real-time" basis. This caused the information that newspapers contained to be potentially obsolete in a matter of hours, as new updates on stories would be available to the public in a matter of minutes through the internet.
