I would draw a line graph going from your staring time and fill level until your "pool" is full. Keep the time along the bottom and fill level along the side

alA baker bought 4 gallons of icing to decorate cakes. He uses 4 1/2 cups of icing for completely Frost and decorate each cake.
kow [346]

Answer: 14 cakes

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following data:

Number of gallons the baker has: 4 gallons \frac{16 cups}{1 gallon}=64 cups

Number of cups the baker used for one cake: 4,5 cups

Now, we can use the Rule of three  to find the maximum number of cakes the baker can completely decorate:

4.5 cups-----1 cake

64 cups-----?

Then:

?=\frac{(64 cups)(1 cake)}{4.5 cups}

?=14,2 cakes \approx 14 cakes

What is the inverse of f(x)? show the work<br> f(x)+3x+5
stealth61 [152]

Answer:

f^-^1(x)=\frac{1}{3}x-\frac{5}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve for the inverse, we need to switch the variables and solve for y.

Note that f(x) is the same as y or in other words, the output.

f(x) = 3x + 5

y = 3x + 5

~Switch variables

x = 3y + 5

~Subtract 5 to both sides

x - 5 = 3y

~Divide 3 to everything

1/3x - 5/3 = y

~Flip

y = 1/3x - 5/3

Best of Luck!

Please help i've been stuck on these for a bit now!
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

Q6. D

Q8. A

Step-by-step explanation:

Q6. In 40 trials, he flipped '2 heads and 1 tail' 16 times.

For 2 heads, probability= 16/40= 4/10

For 120 trials, number of times= 4/10 × 120= 48

Q8.

125x + 200 \geqslant 1200 \\ 125x \geqslant 1200 - 200 \\ 125x \geqslant 1000 \\ x \geqslant 1000 \div 125 \\ x \geqslant 8

Answer is A because the inequality shows that x is equal or greater than 8 so the dot at 8 has to be coloured.

Note that we do not change the inequality sign unless we are dividing the whole thing by -1.
