Hey there! :)

The formula for finding volume of a cone = (π · r² · h) ÷ 3

π = 3

<em>Remember that d is 2x the r. To find r when given d, divide by 2</em>

d = 3
3 ÷ 2 = 1.5

h = 8

3 × 1.5 × 8 = 36

36 ÷ 3 = 12

The volume is 12 in³

Hope this helps :)

Marrrta [24]

The fireworks display occur at 550.331 ft

The generic equation for a hyperbola provided by: is the best method for solving the problem in this instance.

\frac{y^{2} }{b^{2} } - \frac{x^{2} }{a^{2} } = 1 -

We presume that the y-axis is where the hyperbola's longer axis lies.

In this instance, the sound traveled a total of 1100 meters, and the value of a can be calculated as follows:

2a = 1100

a = 550ft

Given that the two people are 3 miles apart, we can calculate the value of c in feet as follows:

1 mile = 5280 feet

∴ 3 miles = 15840 ft = c

And this is how we may determine what b is worth:

b^{2} = c^{2} - a^{2}

b^{2} = 15840^{2} - 550^{2}

b^{2} = 250603100

Our equation is thus given by:

\frac{y^{2} }{250603100 } - \frac{x^{2} }{550^{2} } = 1

And for this case we want to find the value of x when y = 3ft=15840ft and solving for x we get,

\frac{15840^{2} }{250603100 } - \frac{x^{2} }{550^{2} } = 1

\frac{15840^{2} }{250603100 } - 1 = \frac{x^{2} }{550^{2} }

1.001- 1 = \frac{x^{2} }{550^{2} }

0.001 = \frac{x^{2} }{550^{2} }

302865.145= {x^{2}

x = 550.331 ft.

The fireworks display occur at 550.331 ft.

What is the answer I need help i still dont understand area
krok68 [10]
You have to multiply 2.5 with 3.5 to get the area.
all the other numbers are just nonsense so to find the area you just need to multiply those 2 numbers.
2.5 km×3.5 km=8.75 km²

Write an equation that is the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line that passes through (1 , 2) and is parallel to 4x
Damm [24]

First we look for the slope of the line. We know it is parallel to 4x-2y=6. Putting this into slope-intercept form, we get: y=-2x-3. From this we know the slope of the line is -2.

We then find the y-intercept, by plugging in 1 for x and 2 for y in y=-2x+b, and get that 2=-2+b. We now solve for b, which is 4
