Rebecca Wilson was the top scorer in a women's professional basketball league for the 2006 regular season, with a total of 846

points. The number of two-point field goals that Rebecca made was 77 less than double the number of three-point field goals she made. The number of free throws (each worth one point) she made was 30 less than the number of two-point field goals she made. Find how many free throws, two-point field goals, and three-point field goals Rebecca Wilson made during the 2006 regular season.

Answer:

Number of two point goals = 169

Number of three point goals = 123

Number of free throws = 139

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of two point goals = x

Let the number of three point goals = y

Let the number of free throws = z

As per the given statements:

x = 2y-77 ...... (1)

z = x-30 ...... (2)

Using equation (1):

z = 2y-107 ...... (3)

Total number of points from two point goals  = 2x

Total number of points from three point goals  = 3y

Total number of points from free throws  = z

2x+3y+z=846

using (1) and (3):

2(2y-77)+3y+2y-107=846\\\Rightarrow 4y-154+5y-107=846\\\Rightarrow 9y-261=846\\\Rightarrow 9y=846+261\\\Rightarrow 9y=1107\\\Rightarrow y =123

By (1):

x = 2\times 123-77 =169

By (3):

z =2\times 123-107 = 139

So, answers are:

Number of two point goals = 169

Number of three point goals = 123

Number of free throws = 139

The bag contains,

Red (R) marbles is 9, Green (G) marbles is 7 and Blue (B) marbles is 4,

Total marbles (possible outcome) is,

\text{Total marbles = (R) + (G) +(B) = 9 + 7 + 4 = 20 marbles}

Let P(R) represent the probablity of picking a red marble,

P(G) represent the probability of picking a green marble and,

P(B) represent the probability of picking a blue marble.

Probability , P, is,

\text{Prob, P =}\frac{required\text{ outcome}}{possible\text{ outcome}}\begin{gathered} P(R)=\frac{9}{20} \\ P(G)=\frac{7}{20} \\ P(B)=\frac{4}{20} \end{gathered}

Probablity of drawing a Red marble (R) and then a blue marble (B) without being replaced,

That means once a marble is drawn, the total marbles (possible outcome) reduces as well,

\begin{gathered} \text{Prob of a red marble P(R) =}\frac{9}{20} \\ \text{Prob of }a\text{ blue marble =}\frac{4}{19} \\ \text{After a marble is selected without replacement, marbles left is 19} \\ \text{Prob of red marble + prob of blue marble = P(R) + P(B) = }\frac{9}{20}+\frac{4}{19}=\frac{251}{380} \\ \text{Hence, the probability is }\frac{251}{380} \end{gathered}

Hence, the best option is G.

Y = 8<br> 2 + 3y =<br> Use the substitution method.<br> 9 ਨੇ<br> (4, - 4)<br> 8
Annette [7]
The answer is 26.
This is because, since y is equal to 8, you would put 8 in replacement of y, which is called substituting. It would look something like this.
2 + 3y
2+ 3(8)
2+ 24
26

What is the value of the expression below when w =<br> = 22<br> 8w + 10
dalvyx [7]

Answer: 186

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the value, we plug in w=22 and solve.

8(22)+10          [multiply]

176+10             [add]

186

Now, we know the value is 186.

A scuba diver was exploring a reef 32.12 m below sea level. The diver ascended to the surface at a rate of 8.8 m/min.

a. using the formula d = rt, so 32.12 m = 8.8m/min (t)

b. it is reasonable to write the distance as positive because the diver is accending/ going up the surface

<span>c. t = 32.12/ 8.8 = 3.65 min</span>
