It occurred  in 1892 in Pennsylvania between the National Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers of United States and the Carnegie Steel Company when the skilled steel workers refused to work with lower pay caused due to reduction of their wages by Andrew Carnegie. Later the company started the resumed the work without the union and hires unskilled, migrant labourers. Carnegie didn't negotiate with the  workers.
