The Moment The moment when, after many years of hard work and a long voyage you stand in the centre of your room, house, half-ac

re, square mile, island, country, knowing at last how you got there, and say, I own this, is the same moment when the trees unloose their soft arms from around you, the birds take back their language, the cliffs fissure and collapse, the air moves back from you like a wave and you can't breathe. No, they whisper. You own nothing. You were a visitor, time after time climbing the hill, planting the flag, proclaiming. We never belonged to you. You never found us. It was always the other way round. Margaret Atwood In the last line of the poem, the speaker suggests that people a. can control nature. c. belong to nature. b. are controlled by their possessions. d. can only possess tangible things.

Answer:

c. belong to nature.

Explanation:

In this poem, the author describes the feeling that people have sometimes when they think they can control nature. She tells us that people tend to say "I own this," and they feel superior to nature. She warns us about this feeling. She tells us that humans can never "own" or "control" anything. They cannot even "find" nature. It is the other way around, because humans ultimately are part of nature and belong to it.

zlopas [31]
For one Flat Characters and Round Characters don't have much of a difference... BUT there's answer choices so obviously there's a very converted answer in this.
Coming to all my conclusions and marking out answers that make less and less sense LOL
My conclusion would be that: "Flat characters are one-dimensional characters with less important story lines; round characters are multifaceted with story lines that are essential to the plot."
I really hope this helps!!

Why did Chopin choose to communicate so much of her theme, or message, through the literary device of irony?
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

Chopin chooses irony as it added profundity to the story and made an immense impact on the readers.

Explanation:

Kate Chopin wrote The Story of an Hour. She used irony throughout this short narration to make insignificant events appear important.

For example, Mrs Mallard is refereed to have a troubled heart. This was done to exaggerate her behavior regarding different things. At another incident, Mrs Mallard is described to experience sudden, wild abandonment. This too is a perfect example of irony and symbolism portrayed by the author to make everything appear more heightened than usual.

Please help and hurry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
marusya05 [52]

Well...it might be that old "supply and demand" factor. As one example: a corporation/rancher/farmer might have the "demand" and the immigrant might have the "supply."
