Amino acids > proteins > nucleic acids

Both DNA and RNA are types of nucleic acids. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid , while RNA stands for ribonucleic acid. Both DNA and RNA carry genetic information. However, DNA is chiefly responsible for storing and transferring genetic information whereas RNA acts as a messenger between DNA and ribosomes during the process of protein synthesis and directly codes for amino acids.DNA is double stranded while RNA is single stranded.DNA has thymine in its structure but RNA does not. Instead in place of thymine it has uracil.

if a parent cell starts with 22 chromosomes how many chromosomes will each daughter cell have after mitosis
salantis [7]

Answer:

For mitosis, the DNA content of the daughter cells and the mother cell will always be identical. Since the number of cells have doubled, so has the DNA. The 16 chromosomes in the mother cell will be duplicated, then the duplicates split and evenly divided into the daughter cells. The 16 chromosomes in each daughter cell will be non-duplicated at first.

In a genetic cross between aabbccddee and aabbccddee what fraction of the offspring will be homozygous dominant for all five gen
aniked [119]

Answer:

None

Explanation:

The desired homozygous dominant genotype is AABBCCDDEE. To have an offspring with genotype "AABBCCDDEE", at least one copy of the dominant alleles for the genetic loci should be present in either of the parent. However, both the parents are homozygous recessive for all the five mentioned genetic loci and therefore, cannot have a progeny with homozygous dominant genotype "AABBCCDDEE". All the progeny of a cross between the two parents each with genotype "aabbccddee" would have homozygous recessive for all the give loci.

aabbccddee x aabbccddee = All aabbccddee
