I believe it would be to calculate the amount of C-14 atoms left. scientists began to find out how long an object has been decaying, this has to do with half lifes etc. and how long a specific mineral/elements half life is. they use this to calculate how old it is (not an exact age but it's very accurate.)

Why are electrons in an atom involved in bonding
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

The valence electrons have a role in the bonding of two atoms. The nuclei of each atom are drawn together by their attraction to the valence electrons of the other atom. As the atoms are drawn together by their attractions, electrons from each atom are drawn to the nuclei of both atoms, where they are "shared."

How does cytokinesis differ between plants and animals??
Murljashka [212]
In animals, a cleavage furrow begins to form between the soon-to-be sister cells. The lipid bilayer is pinched until the cells are finally separated. In plants, the cell walls are made up of cellulose, so they won't bend. Instead, a new wall is grown in between the the two new cells.
Hope this helps. :D
