Let us try A

If we put x = -3 , then y= 27-36+3+1=-5 , thus it us not the polynomial of given points

Now moving onto B

If x = -3, then y =-81-27+36-3-1=76

If x= -1 , then y=-1-1+4-1-1=0

If x =0, then y=-0-0+0-0-1=-1

If x =1, then y= -1+1+4+1-1=4

Thus it is also not the polynomial with given point.

Now onto c

x= -3 , y=81+27-36+3+1=76

x=0, y = 0+0+0+0+1=1

x= -1 , y = 1+1-4+1+1=0

x=1 , y= 1-1-4-1+1=-4

x=2, y=16-8-16-2+1=-9

Hence C is the polynomial of given points

Please help!! Write in simplest radical form: √7/8 Show how you figured it out
12345 [234]

Given expression: \sqrt{\frac{7}{8}}.

\mathrm{Apply\:radical\:rule\:}\sqrt[n]{\frac{a}{b}}=\frac{\sqrt[n]{a}}{\sqrt[n]{b}}

=\frac{\sqrt{7}}{\sqrt{8}}

\sqrt{8}=\sqrt{2^2\cdot \:2}=2\sqrt{2}

\frac{\sqrt{7}}{\sqrt{8}} =\frac{\sqrt{7}}{2\sqrt{2}}

\mathrm{Rationalize\:}\frac{\sqrt{7}}{2\sqrt{2}}

\mathrm{Multiply\:by\:the\:conjugate}\:\frac{\sqrt{2}}{\sqrt{2}}

=\frac{\sqrt{7}\sqrt{2}}{2\sqrt{2}\sqrt{2}}

=\frac{\sqrt{14}}{4}

=\frac{\sqrt{14}}{4}.

If f(g(x)) = (x-3)^4<br> what is f(x) and g(x)
Lelechka [254]

One possible solution is

f(x) = x^4

g(x) = x-3

Since

f(x) = x^4

f(g(x)) = ( g(x) )^4

f(g(x)) = ( x-3 )^4

=================================================

Another possible solution could be

f(x) = x^2

g(x) = (x-3)^2

Because

f(x) = x^2

f(g(x)) = ( g(x) )^2

f(g(x)) = ( (x-3)^2 )^2

f(g(x)) = (x-3)^(2*2)

f(g(x)) = (x-3)^4

Explain how you could write a quadratic function in factored form that would have a vertex with an x-coordinate of 3 and two dis
skad [1K]
<span>The definition of quadratic function is given by:

</span>(1) \ f(x)=ax^{2}+bx+c \\ \\ where \ a, b, c \ are \ real \ values<span>

So the problem asks for two conditions:

<em>1. Write the quadratic function in factored form. </em>
<em>2. The vertex has an x-coordinate of 3.</em>

Then the equation (1) must be written as follows:

</span>f(x)=(x-m)(x-n) \\ \\ where \ m \ and \ n \ are \ the \ roots<span>

To satisfy the two conditions:

\frac{m+n}{2}=3

So we are free to choose the value of one root, say:

m=1

Thus:

n=6-1=5

Finally, the answer is:

f(x)=(x-1)(x-5)

The graph of this function is shown in the figure below.</span>
