Which cabinet department is the president's "right arm in foreign affairs"?
Strike441 [17]
The State Department, more specifically the Secretary of State, are considered the President's "right arm" in foreign affairs. The Secretary of State is a cabinet position that is in charge of dealing with foreign relations. This position and department can work with other countries on everything from economic policies to peace treaties. This department is extremely important in today's society, considering how often the US works with other countries for importing and exporting goods/services.

What problem did senator connally and president roosevelt see in the 1935 neutrality act? why do you think roosevelt signed it,
Stella [2.4K]
They believed that the problem with the act was that it seemed as if they were not really neutral, but rather as if they were siding with whoever was the stronger side, leaving the weaker side to suffer defeat which was not really a morally correct thing to do, especially coming from a country that preaches democracy all the time.

He signed it because it was necessary and the population wanted it, as well as because several amendments and changes were made such as  to allow shipping arms and equipment while not officially joining the war with troops who would fight on the battlefields. They also managed to get the right to choose who to trade with of the warring factions.
