The Central Pacific Railroad was a cargo and passenger train company that had operations between California and Utah in the 1860s.  

The Union Pacific Railroad is a similar company set up in 1862, that has country wide operations covering Chicago, Illinois to the Pacific coast. The Central Pacific Railroad, later on became part of the Union Pacific

The Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) is the now-defunct railroad company whose mesh was built between California and Utah in the United States and is part of the "First Transcontinental Railroad."  Similarly, Union Pacific Railroad is an American freight railroad company that operates approximately 8,500 locomotives along more than 50,000 km of roads in 23 states.

A common ground between these two companies is that they both allowed their employees to work in extreme weather conditions that caused negative effects on workers' physical and mental health.

People working in areas with intense weather events, such as hurricanes or tornadoes, are at greater risk of suffering from mental suffering. A storm is stressful while it is happening, but the "next day" can also have lasting psychological impact.
