Groups that contributed to American society and culture. One significant contribution from this group on American society and/or culture. Explain how the contribution affected American society and/or culture. (Hint – What did Americans gain from the contribution?)

Native Americans- Native Americans created place names for the surrounding land around them and new places they discovered.

Americans gain from Native Americans contribution- Over half of America's states still have the original names given by the Indians.

African Americans- African Americans created dancing with rhythm and words with beats that matched their dancing.

Americans gain from African Americans contribution- The dancing techinque the African Americans made has influenced pop culture today In music like rap and hip hop.

Women- Back in the day when men left the household to help with wars women had to raise children and manage the households to make sure everything remained the same for when their husbands returned home.

Americans gain from women contribution- In America today some moms stay home and quit their job to raise their kids full time at home while their husbands go to work.

Children- In the early days most families had farms. The farms were to much to handle for the parents so the parents would give the children chores to help with such little time in the day and such a great amount of work.

Americans gain from children contribution- In modern culture today most parents pay their children allowance to do chores around the house like doing the dishes or taking the trash out.

Reflection Questions:

Which group contributed the most to American society and culture? Explain your answer using specific examples from the lesson.

I believe women had an important role in society because they kept businesses and raised children and helped in wars. Without women a lot more soldiers would have died in war businesses would have gone out of business and children would have to raise themselves.

How has the role of children in society changed from colonial times to the present? (Hint: Do children still do the same things today as they did in colonial times? What is the same? What is different?

Children´s role has canged by parents having their children work in farms to having children now do tiny household tasks like doing the dishes, taking the trash out and walking the dog. Colonial children and modern children are alike because they both did chores to help their parents out. The difference between colonial children and modern day children is that modern day children’s chores aren’t as crucial as colonial children’s chores.

Hey there!

Native American Contribution: Helping the "patriots" learning basic survival skills, being diversity with cultural bounds, fishing, and hunting.

African American Contribution: Building economic stability. As well as Native Americans giving a cultural diffusion of diversity "indirectly", they surely were treated differently due to slavery, and taught whites that not everybody comes from the same backgrounds/places.

Women Contribution: Practically the highlight of America on what it is today, with being able to vote, and being able to be themselves. We give out different rights for women here then what others do in other countries around the world. With having that in mind, women across the world strive to enter the United States of America just for the purpose of having these specific rights of which they strive for in their very own countries.

Children Contribution: Children ARE our future. Passing down the basis of knowledge from generations on generations. They are the sprouting roots of everyone and everything. Very important.

Reflection Questions:

Personally, I believe Women have contributed the most in American society and culture. From raising the children that ARE our future, and much more. From striving for their own rights, and influencing others to come and have the same growth of rights and power. Women are the biggest impact.

The role of children in society has changed quite a bit compared to colonial times. Colonial times we had kids in factories for labor, and hardworking specialists for the small cent. Nowadays, we have many more opportunities for healthcare, schooling, and more. Definitely in my sense, being different.

Hope this helped!

Explain the reasons for U.S. neutrality during the 1920s and 1930s. How did ideas about neutrality change during the period from
aliina [53]

Answer:

The main reason was because the United States didn't wish to be involved in foreign wars.  The ideas about neutrality changed during the period from the end of World War 1 to the passage of the Lend-Lease Act because the democratic governed countries we helped were non threatening and more likely to receive our help with gratitude than countries with dictators.  We helped Britain and our other allies because they had governments that we viewed as more accepting of our help.

In my opinion, the turning point at which the U.S. was no longer neutral was when we started helping our allies.
