What did Executive Order 9066 allow for? Question 2 options: The Secretary of War to determine which areas are military zones an
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer: In the days after the Pearl Harbor attack by the Japanese on December 7, 1941, suspicion fell on Japanese American communities in the western United States. The U.S. Department of the Treasury froze the assets of all citizens and resident aliens who were born in Japan, and the Department of Justice arrested some 1,500 religious and community leaders as potentially dangerous enemy aliens. Because many of the largest populations of Japanese Americans were in close proximity to vital war assets along the Pacific coast, U.S. military commanders petitioned Secretary of War Henry Stimson to intervene. The result was Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066.

Explanation: In 1948 Pres. Harry S. Truman signed the Evacuation Claims Act, which gave internees the opportunity to submit claims for property lost as a result of relocation. Pres. Gerald Ford formally rescinded Executive Order 9066 on February 16, 1976. In 1988 Congress passed the Civil Liberties Act, which stated that a “grave injustice” had been done to Japanese American citizens and resident aliens during World War II. It also established a fund that paid some $1.6 billion in reparations to formerly interned Japanese Americans or their heirs.

Why was there a strong debate surrounding the annexation of Texas
emmainna [20.7K]
When Texas split from Mexico in 1836, its citizens were largely in favor of annexation by the US. Most of US political leaders, however, were against it. One main issue was that Texas practiced slavery. Political leaders feared that dealing with Texas's slavery would stir up even greater controversy. Perhaps an even greater concern, though, was that Mexico was not happy about the loss of Texas. US political leaders feared the war that the annexation of Texas would no doubt spark

Study the map below. Which two places are connected by both a land route and a sea route?
Alona [7]

The correct answer is A) Memphis and Adulis.

The two places that are connected by both a land route and a sea route were Memphis and Adulis.

We are talking about two important cities during ancient Egypt times. The map shows many important ancient Egyptian cities that represented the expanded territories and dominion of Egyptian Pharaohs. Memphis was the capital of lower Egypt. It was located north of what today is Cairo, the modern capital of Egypt. It was an important city located next to the Delta of the Nile River and was an important place for trade. Adulis was located in the Gulf of Zula, in the Red Sea. It was also a place for trade that was connected to Memphis by land and sea.

What are two different ways historians discover history?
Anarel [89]

Answer:

Historians commonly approach the study of historical writing in two quite distinct ways: either by study of the techniques which we hold to be immediately relevant today, or by looking at the “history of history”, as for example by focusing on classic texts in Western historical writing!!
