Since a percent is out of 100 we can make 75/500 to have the denominator of 100.
To do that you divide
500/5 = 100
and for the numerator
75/5 = 15
whatever you do to one side you must do to the other that's why I divided both sides by 5. The ending fraction would be 15/100 which is the same as 15%
17 seeds are left over because in the 7 holes she puts 2 seeds in each which if you multiply it it will equal to 14 and plus the three that she has left over and if you add 14 and 3 you get 17 seeds. hope this helps!
