In 1960, US imposed many restrictions to counterattacks the Cuban government for changing some of the US private assets into public assets.

After Fidel Castro came to power in 1961, there were a number of attempts made by the CIA to overthrow him. It was because the CIA believed that Fidel Castro's regime would prove to be a hazard to the regional dominance of the United States and that he may also help Russia in its anti-American activities.

Later, many presidents of America tried to unite both the nations during Cold War.

Tensions where high. With multiple attempts of assassination on Castro’s life, and Russia gaining the trust of Cuba, which this takes place right during the climax of the Cold War
