Light wave is picked up by the eyes; directly from the source of the light, or indirectly from reflecting off of a body in its path. Light is very important because it allows us to take in information about our environment through our eyes. In the absence of light, especially at night when other natural means of light has faded, artificial light from man made sources like the electric bulb, LED light, fluorescence light bulbs, etc becomes very important, for illuminating our surrounding.
