An equation and the steps to solve it are shown below: 7x − one over two (8x + 4) = 6 Step 1: 7x − 4x − 2 = 6 Step 2: 3x − 2 = 6

Step 3: 3x − 2 + 2 = 6 Step 4: 3x = 6 Step 5: x = 2 Which step was the error made and why?

<span>7x − (1/2)(8x + 4) = 6
Step 1: 7x − 4x − 2 = 6
Step 2: 3x − 2 = 6
Step 3: 3x − 2 + 2 = 6
Step 4: 3x = 6
Step 5: x = 2

The error is in step 3, where 2 was added to the left side but not to the right side. The additive property of equality states that you can add the same number to both sides of an equation. Here 2 was added only to the left side. That is incorrect. 2 should have been added to both sides.
3x - 2 + 2 = 6 + 2
3x = 8
x = 8/3
The correct solution is x = 8/3, not x = 2.

Describe this graph below in 2-4 sentences.
Mumz [18]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Polynomial with a degree of 3 (due to 3 intersection points). Since the end of the graph is approaching positive infinity, we also know the equation of this graph has a positive coefficient.

(I don't know if you're in calculus yet, but...) We also know that there is a local min and local max, as well as inflection points as the graph changes concavity.

A gardener wants to enclose a circular garden with a square fence. If the circumference of the circular garden is about 99 feet,
Andreas93 [3]
The square will be equal to the diameter of the circle.  The circumference of a circle is π times the diameter, and the perimeter of the square is four times times that diameter...

C=πd

d=C/π

p=4d so

p=4C/π feet, since C≈99 ft and π≈3.14

p≈4(99)/(3.14)

p≈126.1 ft  (to nearest tenth of a foot)
