When charged particles from the sun strike atoms in earth's atmosphere, it causes electrons to move to a higher energy state. When the electrons drop back to a low energy state they release light photons. That is what causes an  aurora!

Hope this helped!

With this new concept in your students' minds, you can now begin discussing how cells can utilize dehydration synthesis and hydr
Anna35 [415]

The biosynthesis of fatty acids and lipids meets two imperatives in the

cell :

- supply of fatty acids necessary for the synthesis of structural lipids;

- storage of energy.

The synthesis of fatty acids goes through a dehydration step during its synthesis. and its catabolism goes through a hydration stage, which shows the importance of H2O molecules to build lipids (even cholesterol).

Synthesis of the fatty acid:

firstly, acetyl-ACP and malonyl-ACP were condensed, followed by reduction of acetoacetyl-ACP to β-hydroxybutyryl-ACP, followed by dehydration of β-hydroxyacyl-ACP, and finally reduction of the double bond by NADPH + H

Catabolism:

The reverse steps will occur: a beta oxidation, a hydration of the molecule, and finally another oxidation.

Your aunt grows sprouts hydroponically. from where do her plants get nutrients?
larisa [96]
Hydroponics way of growing, is way of farming, in which plants are grown in nutrient rich water. So, in Hydroponic growing of sprouts, sprouts get their nutrients from the nutrients supply like liquid fertilizers which are mixed with the water. It is one of the advantage of hydroponic means of growing because, unlike in soil system, the plants root does not have to work hard to get nutrient from underground. The easy availability of nutrients and other condition like water, pH level etc makes plants grow faster are fuller.

Also, advancement of technology have made it possible to prepare built-in hybrid hydroponic system which have multiple ways of delivering nutrient to specific plants.
