The answer to this open question is the following.

International support dropped so much in the second term of Bush's presidency due to many international affairs and the decisions Bush made to resolve them that affected the United States.

Domestically, Bush focused on the reformation of the social security system. But the focus of the international community was placed in Iraq. Bush's decisions in Iraq were questioned since the very beginning due to that he did not wait until the Security Council of the United Nations authorized military intervention. And when in there, nobody found weapons of mass destruction, the main reason for Bush to order the invasion.

During Bush's second term, the great recession hit, making the American economy very unstable. The unsteadiness of the economy stopped foreign investors from investing in American stock because they were uncertain if they would make their money back. For that reason, the international support of the United States dropped.

Do you think there would have been a sectional crisis that pitted North and South against one another without the instigating fa
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

yes

Explanation:

Because the Northern workers felt that slavery suppressed wages and stole land that could have been used by poor white Americans to achieve economic independence. Southerners feared that without slavery’s expansion, the abolitionist faction would come to dominate national politics and an increasingly dense population of slaves would lead to bloody insurrection and race war. Constant resistance from enslaved men and women required a strong proslavery government to maintain order. As the North gradually abolished human bondage, enslaved men and women headed North on an underground railroad of hideaways and safe houses. Northerners and Southerners came to disagree sharply on the role of the federal government in capturing and returning these freedom seekers. While Northerners appealed to their states’ rights to refuse capturing runaway slaves, Southerners demanded a national commitment to slavery. Enslaved laborers meanwhile remained vitally important to the nation’s economy, fueling not only the southern plantation economy but also providing raw materials for the industrial North.

8. How are political parties and interest groups similar?
natka813 [3]

Answer:

Political parties and interest groups are similar as they are inspired by certain ideologies and they try in their own ways to bring changes for the betterment of society.

Explanation:

 • Political parties can be deemed as interest groups, but with the desire to have power.
 • There is not much difference in the functioning of both as both hold issues up and work for them to be resolved.
 • The working of interest groups is complementary to the working of the political party in power as it is because of the interest groups the government realizes the intensities of issues faced by people of society.
