Answer:

The answers and explanations of the questions are:

Explanation:

1. Vincent´s life expectancy at birth was 30.2 years. He would die from a heart condition caused by a congenital heart defect.

2.  In the future presented by the movie, human genetic engineering is common, and then human are classified those created with this technology as "valids" and those who weren't as "in-valids". Vincent was conceived without the aid of this technology, thus is classified as "in-valid" and suffers from dysfunctions such as myopia and a congenital heart defect. Anton, Vincent´s brother, was conceived with the help of it, having a better genetic profile that Vincent, and being classified as "valid". The Doctor eradicated any potential prejudicial conditions like premature baldness, miopia, alcoholism and addictive susceptibility, violent tendencies and obesity, saying that they want to give their children the best possible start, refuting to leave anything to chance.

3. It means that by using genetic engineering, they remove any "bad" traits in the DNA, leaving only the best ones in order to remove the chances of any diseases and other conditions.

4. Anton is taller, better looking, more athletic, robust and stronger than Vincent, also he doesn't wear glasses.

5. Society was classified by their DNA into 2 groups, "valids" and "in-valids". Only people classified as "valids" were eligible for professional careers. So, people were genetically tested to see if they were eligible for a job, that's what the statement "my resume is in my cells" means. Vincent´s goal and dream was to become an astronaut. Before changing identity, Vincent was able to get a job as a janitor or cleaner.

6. Vincent "bought" Jerome´s identity in order to achieve his lifelong dream of being an astronaut. To impersonate Jerome, he had to increase his height, and received orthopedic surgery, he had to train to be right-handed, and wear contact lenses to replace his glasses and match with Jerome´s eye color, and had to carry blood, urine and tissue samples in order to pass any genetic tests.

7. As an "in-valid" person (a person conceived by traditional means susceptible to genetic disorders), Vincent wasn't eligible to qualify for professional employment, and was relegated to low-grade jobs, and also receives genetic discrimination and prejudice. However, using Jerome´s impressive genetic profile, he can easily access Gattaca Aerospace Corporation, and his interview is simply a urine test.

8. He had to be extremely thorough and avoid leaving any traces of his DNA. He disposed of as much loose skin, fingernails and hair as possible. He would also carry samples of blood, urine and other traces for the frequent tests. Vincent and Jerome continue with their plan despite having the police so close and being suspects of the murder investigation. They go through several plots to avoid getting caught and finally get away with it.

9. Yes, right before the launch, Vincent was stopped for an unexpected DNA test. Since Vincent didn´t have any of Jerome´s DNA samples with him, he fails the test .The doctor then reveals he had known all along, and reveals that what gave him away was "Right-handed men don´t hold it with their left. Just one of those things" as quoted by the doctor.

10. For the money. He would sell his identity and receive a payment from vincent. As he was disabled, he could no longer work, so Vincent would pay the rent and maintain Jerome´s lifestyle.

I'm unsure if these are correct.

1. Heart problems

2. They believe nothing should be left to chance because they have the technology to make a prefect human... at least that's what they believed. They though naturally born humans were flawed so they don't get the same perks in life as a genetically modified human. (I'm not really sure if this is true or not)

3.  Because children in the movie are genetically engineered, meaning, they only take the best traits on their DNA to make children. (I don't know if this one is correct either)

4. Not sure for this one

5. His cells tell the truth about who he is - you can't lie about your cells - that he is invalid

6. Because children in the movie are genetically engineered, meaning, they only take the best traits on their DNA to make children (Not sure if it's correct)

7. He has a job and can date. Since he has a genetic disorder he couldn't do either if he would not had impersonated the other guy whose DNA was perfect but he was wheelchair bound due to injury.

8.  He furiously and meticulously washes his skin and picks up all of his hairs from the shower and cleans he keyboard and desk every single day.

9. The doctor did, but he didn't tell anyone because his son was born naturally, and he therefore naturally respected Jerome. He said at the end, "Nobody pees with their left hand." So yes, he knew all along.

10. Because he was getting paid for it.

I'm really really sorry if it took too long. I searched for a long time looking for answers and I'm so sorry if they aren't right. I'm trying my best, lol.

Does the moon or sun have the greatest impact of earth? and why?
sesenic [268]

Answer:

While the sun and moon both have tremendous impacts on earth, the sun definitely has the greater impact.

Explanation:

This is because while the moon's gravitational pull has a great effect on the ocean and tides, the sun literally heats up the planet to the exact inhabitable degree, as well as makes up our day/night schedule

SOVA2 [1]
