SUMMARY-

Part I

A prisoner along with his palms tied behind his back and a noose around his neck is on a bridge in Alabama. Federal squaddies protect him, and there is a sentinel at every give up of the bridge. there may be rushing water under them.

A line of squaddies stands on one financial institution of the river dealing with the bridge, motionless.

The prisoner is a civilian gentleman in his mid-Thirties and has a kindly expression.

part II

One evening, a soldier rode as much as his gate and requested for some water. whilst Mrs. Fahrquhar fetched it, Peyton asked about the battle attempt. He stated the Yanks had secured Owl Creek bridge and have been preparing an advance. every body caught interfering could be hanged. The soldier similarly indicated that the bridge is lightly guarded on this aspect. there's also an accumulation of driftwood in opposition to it that would without difficulty burn.
