Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We shall find the solution of this problem with the help of vector notation of i , j , which show east and  north direction .

The first displacement can be represented by the following

D₁ = - 3 cos 45 i + 3 sin45 j = - 3 / √2 i + 3 / √2 j

The second  displacement can be represented by the following

D₂ = - 5 cos 45 i - 5 sin45 j = - 5 /√2 i - 5 /√2 j

The third  displacement can be represented by the following

D₃ =  4 cos 45 i + 4 sin45 j =  4 /√2 i + 4 /√2 j

Total displacement D =

D₁ +D₂ + D₃

= i ( -3 -5 + 4 ) / √2 + j ( 3 - 5 + 4 ) / √2 j

= - 4  / √2 i + 2 / √2 j

D = - 2.8288 i + 1.414 j

Magnitude of D

= √ ( 2.8288² + 1.414² )

= 3.16 miles

For direction we calculate angle with X axis

Tanθ = 1.414 / 2.8288

θ = 26 °

As x is negative and Y is positive ,

the direction will be north of west .

Please someone help me with this
shtirl [24]

Answer:

2,-1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the midpoint of a line segment, take the average of the x coordinates and y coordinates of the two points that make it up.

\frac{2+2}{2} ,\frac{4+(-7)}{2}

=\frac{4}{2} , \frac{-3}{2}\frac{4}{2} , \frac{-3}{2}

=2,-1.5

Line segment BC will be reflected over line m to form line segment BC. Which of the following statements must be true?
Len [333]

Answer:

<u>Option A</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

To reflect line segment BC over line m, BB' will be perpendicular to the line m

and line m bisector of BB'.

<u>So, the correct answer is option A</u>

A) Line m is the perpendicular bisector of line segment BB' and the line segment CC'

<u>Option b is wrong</u> , it is impossible for the line B'C' to be perpendicular to line BC. B'C' is the image of BC.

<u>Both option c and d is wrong</u> because the perpendicular distance from b to the line m not equal to the perpendicular distance from c to the line m.

The area of a rectangle with width × and length 7× is 7². what does the coefficient 7 mean in terms of the problem?
tatuchka [14]

The coefficient 7 means that the length is 7 times the width

<h3>How to interpret the coefficient?</h3>

The given parameters are:

Width = x

Length = 7x

Area = 7x^2

We have:

Length = 7x

Substitute Width = x in Length = 7x

Length = 7 * Width

This means that the length is 7 times the width
