By the end of the 13th century, Crusading had become more expensive. The time had passed when a Crusade army was made up of knights who served under a lord and paid their own way. Economic pressures caused many nobles to seek royal service. Royal armies, therefore, became more professional, and many knights as well as foot soldiers served for pay. Moreover, the rise of royal authority meant that great Crusades could no longer be cobbled together by feudal lords but were increasingly reliant on kings, who were by their nature easily distracted by events at home.
1. Why did people from small states (states with fewer people) want all the states to hav ether same number of votes in the federal legislature? What did they fear?
A: Smaller states would be at a disavantage if votes are dependandant on population. A bigger state would have more delegates than the smaller ones. They feared having less power in elections and less representation, and that larger states would have the control.
2. Why did people from larger states (states with more people) want representation to be based on the population? What was their argument?
A: They believed that larger states should have more representation in Congress, proportionate to the state's population and size. That would give them more authority.
3. Why was the compromise creating a two-house chamber (the House of Representatives and the senate) to balance the needs of smaller and larger states the best solution? Explain.
A: The Compromise pleased the smaller states by giving them equal representation in the Senate regardless of its population, while it met the larger states expectations by determining that the House would be based on proportional representation. This way both large and small states had some authority in the federal legislature.
1. Dictators emerged so often because South America was going through the Cold War where two major powers tried to expand their influence to be bigger than the others. The Soviet Union helped support communist revolutions across south and Central America. The United States of America’s supplied these anti revolutionaries with weapons and manpower. America also installed dictators for the sake of their dominance
2. The Japanese government handled the economic crisis after WW2 really well. They achieved this by “stimulating private sector growth, first by instituting regulations and protectionism that effectively managed economic crises and later by concentrating on trade expansion”. Economic aid from the U.S to help Japan recover (to expand their influence) didn’t hurt.
I think the answer is B but I could be wrong
