Answer:

7

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula of joint variation : z = kxy

To Calculate k

Width(x)= 7

Height(y) = 12

Volume(z) = 420

Substitute the values in the formula

420 = k(7)(12)

\frac{420}{7 \times 12} = k

5= k

Now , to find the missing height

Substitute width = x = 15

Height = ?

Volume = z = 525

Substitute the values in the formula :

525 = 5(15)y

\frac{525}{5 \times 15}= y

7= y

So, the  missing value is 7 .

7 * 12 * 5 = 420
10 * 5 * 5 = 250
2 * 18 * 5 = 180
15 * 7 * 5 = 525

Answer
missing = 7

(0,5.25)(10,13.75)
slope(m) = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
slope(m) = (13.75 - 5.25) / (10 - 0) = 8.5/10 = 0.85

y = mx + b
(0,5.25)...x = 0 and y = 5.25
slope(m) = 0.85
now we sub, we r looking for b, the y int
5.25 = 0.85(0) + b
5.25 = b

so ur equation is : y = 0.85x + 5.25 or C(t) = 0.85t + 5.25 <==

cost of a 12 min taxi ride.....sub in 12 for t
C(t) = 0.85t + 5.25
C(12) = 0.85(12) +5.25
C(12) = 10.20 + 5.25 = 15.45
so a 12 min ride would cost u : $ 15.45 <==

62. Height Kirsten places her surveyor's telescope on the top of
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

21 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Height of the tripod above the ground = 5 ft

Elevation = 8°

Distance of the tree from the tripod = 120 ft

Therefore from the figure, we can find the height of the tress as:

$\tan 8 ^\circ = \frac{BC}{AB}$

$0.1405  = \frac{BC}{120}$

∴  BC ≈ 16

Therefore, CE = BC+BE

                        = 16 + 5

                        = 21

Therefore the height of the tree is 21 feet.
