What was a factor that contributed to the diversity of mesoamerican civilizations?
makkiz [27]

Mesoamerica is a wide diverse area that includes Central Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Being such a wide territory, geographic, natural and climate factors were decisive to these civilizations dominance in that area.

For example, one big civilization was The Olmec, they lived in a short area of 125 by 50 miles southern Mexico that had a diverse natural habitat, they grew rubber trees and harvest rubber. They had a strong cultural influence in that region.

The Mayas were one of the most famous civilizations of that area. They had big cities that covered southern Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. Because of their big knowledge of astronomy and mathematics, they built pyramids and huge cities that are still there. Different from The Olmec, they had poor soil and no large rivers.

The Teotihuacán in the highlands of Mexico surrounded by mountains had several lakes. They had a big agricultural village.

The Aztecs settled in an island on the shore of a lake. they built food production creating floating islands of soil. They ruled most of the Mesoamerica and mixed their traditions with The Olmecs.

What is a bedrock principle of our nation’s foreign policy?
AURORKA [14]

Answer:

The four main objectives of U.S. foreign policy are the protection of the United States and its citizens and allies, the assurance of continuing access to international resources and markets, the preservation of a balance of power in the world, and the protection of human rights and democracy.

Explanation:

Actually, no less a student of the United States than Andrei Gromyko once remarked that Americans have "too many doctrines and concepts proclaimed at different times" and so are unable to pursue "a solid, coherent, and consistent policy." Only recall the precepts laid down in Washington's Farewell Address and Jefferson's inaugurals, the speeches of John Quincy Adams, the Monroe Doctrine with its Polk, Olney, and Roosevelt Corollaries, Manifest Destiny, the Open Door, Wilson's Fourteen Points, Franklin Roosevelt's wartime speeches and policies, Containment in all its varieties, Nixon's détente, Carter's Notre Dame speech, Clinton's enlargement, and the Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon, Carter, and Reagan Doctrines. Far from hurling the country into a state of anomie, the end of the Cold War has revealed anew the conceptual opulence that has cluttered American thinking throughout this century.

1. What is alchemy? How is it related to Taoism?
kiruha [24]

"1" Taoist physical practices like breathing exercises, massage, martial arts, yoga, and meditation. These are meant to change a person both physically and mentally and bring them closer to harmony with the Tao.

"2" These are objects that are thought to bring good luck. They also keep the evil spirits away In Taoism talismans are strips of paper which written on them are words of power and religious symbols that focus on benevolent spiritual energies to purify, heal the sick, and drive away demons.

"3" To bring order and harmony to many layers of the cosmos.

"4" Southern Taoism is more of an offshoot of Cheng-I Taoism, the only liturgical tradition that’s surviving today. The priests still perform liturgies just like the chiao, believed to harmonize their local community with the cosmos. But the north doesn’t approve of these rituals. Northern Taoism has grown from the Ch’uan-chen tradition.
