hi hun!

From what I understand, ill explain to the best of my knowledge so u understand!

First. off they asked for "proportionality" basically asking for the rate it's growing at or weeks its taking.

I see that:

Flower 1: 6 inches

Flower 2: 10 inches

Flower 3: 14 inches

The proportionality which these flowers are growing at is 4 inches every two weeks.

And I also see:

Week 3

Week 5

Week 7

When u look closer u can see that the weeks are divisible by the inches for each of the flowers and each answer u get is 2!

And also just by looking at the weeks which are 2 weeks separate if u count them.

Week 3 would be:

6/3=2

Week 5 would be:

10/5=2

Week 7 would be:

14/7=2

so the proportionality is 2! c:

Twenty toothpicks, each 6 cm long, form a figure consisting of six equilateral triangles and a rectangle as shown. What is the t
Roman55 [17]

The total area of the figure is 139.20 square centimeters

Areas

The area of a shape is the amount of space it occupies

<h3>Composite figure</h3>

The figure (see attachment) is a composite figure, and the total area is the sum of the areas of each shape that makes up the complete figure

The shape has 6 equilateral triangles, each of which has an area of:

A_1 = \sqrt{\frac{3s^2}{4}}

Where:

s = 6 --- the length of each toothpick

The area of the rectangle is then represented as:

A_2 =3s \times s

A_2 =3s^2

So, the total area of the figure is:

Total = 6A_1 + A_2

This gives

Total =6 \times \sqrt{\frac{3s^2}{4}} + 3s^2

Substitute 6 for s

Total =6 \times \sqrt{\frac{3(6)^2}{4}} + 3(6)^2

Total =6 \times \sqrt{27} + 108

Total =6 \times 5.20+ 108

Total =139.20

Hence, the total area of the figure is 139.20 square centimeters

Why do you need 23 days to count from 1 to 1 million?
Katyanochek1 [597]
This question is ambiguous. The time to count to 1 million could be more or less then 23 days. However, if someone counted to 1 million in 23 days nonstop, the interval between saying the next number would be 2 seconds.

Sarah took the advertising department from her company on a round trip to meet with a potential client. Including Sarah a total
dimulka [17.4K]
You can set up a system of equations for this problem. x= number of coach tickets and y = number of first class tickets.

$210x + $1200y = $10,230 (cost of coach ticket plus cost of first class tickets is total budget)

x + y = 11 (number of coach tickets plus number of first class tickets is total number of people)

Solve the second equation for y to get y = 11 - x, then plug that into the first equation and solve for x:

$210x + $1200(11 - x) = $10,230

$210x + $13,200 - $1200x = $10,230

-$990x + $13,200 = $10,230

-$990x = $2,970

x = 3

Sarah bought x = 3 coach tickets. Plug that into the second equation and solve for y:

3 + y = 11

y = 8

Sarah bought y = 8 first class tickets.
