If 2 sets are disjoint means they have not any common element.

Draw a rectangle & inscribe inside this rectangle 2 circles that do not intersect.

cercle₁ ∩ cercle₂ =Ф.
Their complement would be the part of the rectangle - the 2 circles

Answer: The union of the complements is equal to the universal set, this is the whole region in the Venn diagram.

Step-by-step explanation:

Two sets are disjoint if they do not share any element, so if the sets are A and B we would have that:

A∩B = {∅}

the intersection between two disjoint sets is equal to the empty set.

now, as they are disjoint, we will have that the complement of A ; Ac, contains all the values of B (and all the other things that do not belong to A), and the complement of B,   Bc contains all the components of A (and all the other elements thta do not belong to B).

Then when we calculate Ac∪Bc we are including:

All the values of B

All the values that are not in A

All the values of A

All the values that are not in B.

So the union of the complements is the universal set (the whole Venn diagram)

Solve by the substitution method.
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

The unique solution to the system is (x,y){(-9,-3)}

Step-by-step explanation:

x - y = -6     equation 1

5x + 6y = -63     equation 2

We will find the value of x from equation 1.

x= y-6

Now put the value of x in equation 2.

5(y-6)+6y = -63

5y-30+6y = -63

Combine the like terms:

5y+6y= -63+30

11y = -33

Divide both sides by 11.

11y/11 = -33/11

y = -3

Now put the value y = -3 in x=y-6

x = y-6

x= -3-6

x= -9

Therefore The unique solution to the system is (x,y){(-9,-3)} ....

Calculate the value of 4321 (base 5) + 343 (base 5)
AnnZ [28]

In the "1s" place,

1₅ + 3₅ = 4₅

In the "5s" place,

2₅ + 4₅ = (6)₅ = (5 + 1)₅ = 10₅ + 1₅ = 11₅

In the "25s" place, we carry the leading 1 from the "5s" place,

3₅ + 3₅ + 1₅ = (7)₅ = (5 + 2)₅ = 10₅ + 2₅ = 12₅

In the "125s" place, we carry over the 1 again,

4₅ + 1₅ = (5)₅ = (5 + 0)₅ = 10₅ + 0₅ = 10₅

Putting everything together,

4321₅ + 343₅ = 10214₅
