Which graph models the equation -2x + 4y = -8?

The graphs for this are very small, but I think the one that represents the solution is the third one, because with the x being 4 and the y being 0, that would make the point (4, 0) and satisfy the equation. With x being 0 and y being -2, the other point would be (0, -2). The graphs are too small to read, but whichever graph intersects over those two points I named is the answer.

Answer:

B, C, E

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the squares of two positive integers is 394. If one integer is 2 less than the other and the larger integer is x. Fin
IgorLugansk [536]
Larger is x
the other is called y
sum of squares is 394
x^2+y^2=394
one is 2 less that other
x>y so
y+2=x
subsitute y+2 for x

(y+2)^2+y^2=394
expand
y^2+4y+4+y^2=394
add like terms
2y^2+4y+4=394
divideboth sides by 2
y^2+2y+2=197
subtract 197 from both sides
y^2+2y-195=0
factor
(y+15)(y-13)=0
set each to zero
y+15=0
y=-15
impossible since it is stated that they are positive so get rid of this solution
y-13=0
y=13

find other
y+2=x
13+2=x
15=x

In order to choose the boxplot , you can follow this step :

- Determine the start point and the end point of the boxplot,
You can do this by finding the smallest and the highest number. In this case, the start point will be : 65 , The end point will  be 119
- the next is found the box that cover other numbers, in this case, found the box that cover 90 to 116

And then pretty much it, hope this helps

ser-zykov [4K]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  ΔLMN ~ ΔLFG; scale factor 7/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratios of side lengths, shortest to longest are ...

  FG : GL : LF = 24 : 36 : 42 = 4 : 6 : 7 (reduced)

  MN : NL : LM = 56 : 84 : 98 = 4 : 6 : 7 (reduced)

The side ratios are the same, so ΔLMN ~ ΔLFG. The scale factor is ...

  MN/FG = 56/24 = 7/3
