Fun tip that I use:

I count how many words there is then count a box to see if it matches.

I usually like to count the boxes of each line and the amount of letters in the words

-table of contents: helps readers know where to look for certain chapters and such. (Organizes book)
-heading: tells reader what a chapter is about
-caption: description of something
-glossary: helps readers know certain vocabulary
-bold faced words: attracts the readers eye
-label: helps to identify something or someone
-photograph: can help a reader better understand a text
-diagram: informative and helps readers know more and understand better
